If I was in fifteenth century

If I was in fifteenth century;
Columbus would be my friend.
I would have voyaged across different oceans,
Enjoyed the violent ocean breeze,
Dreamed of landing on a precious land,
Embraced first glimpse of an unknown continent
Sailed west and discovered America.

If I was in fifteenth century;
Columbus would be my envy.
I would have travelled across few villages,
Cursed the cold village breeze,
Dreamed of owning a piece of land,
Embraced a warm shelter on my head,
Sailed towards happiness and discovered surrender.

If I was in fifteenth century;
Columbus wouldn't be my inspiration.
I wouldn't have lived today,
Enjoyed despair of discovering a continent,
Dreamed of landing on an uninhabited land,
Embraced the glimpse of flying ash around an Iceland,
Sailed towards saturation and discovered boredom.
